Zad Archery Jobs Guide: How to Choose an Archer
Quick answer
Unlock the Jobs system, inspect the five Archer paths in your own build, and judge each job by the combat behavior it changes.
Quick answer
Zad Archery has five Archer jobs. If you are trying to select an archer, first reach the Jobs system, open its job selection screen, and read the behavior shown for each available choice. Pick for the problem visible in your runs: damage, survival, or positioning. Do not choose only by the highest-looking number or by a tier list made from the Demo.
How to approach the job selection
- Unlock the Jobs system. Steam's achievement list calls this milestone “A New Path.”
- Open the Jobs screen instead of the basic skill tree. A community topic titled “how to select archer” suggests these two layers are easy to confuse.
- Read the available job behavior and abilities. Note how it attacks, moves, and survives.
- Equip one job and test a familiar wave. Use a wave you understand so a behavior change is obvious.
- Watch distance and movement. If the archer advances into danger, treat speed and range as connected decisions.
- Return to the job screen only after identifying the failure. Your next choice should solve the observed problem.
Choose by combat behavior
If enemies reach you before they die
Prioritize a job and setup that preserve useful distance or raise kill speed. Do not add movement speed blindly. In player feedback on Steam, one Sniper player described the archer running forward while firing and meeting melee enemies too early. That report is a useful warning: movement can change exposure, not just clear speed.
If you die after a long fight
Separate sustained survival from recovery between groups. The same discussion notes that regeneration may contribute little when there is not enough downtime for it to tick. Test whether the actual requirement is faster kills, stronger defenses, or recovery.
If ordinary waves are easy but a new system is locked
The next step may not be a different job. Check the systems overview for crafting, mining, Shaping, Masteries, and Guardian Perks. A system unlock can expand the tools available to the same job.
What not to assume
The official store confirms the total of five jobs, but it does not publish a complete list of all job names, unlock requirements, or a best-job ranking. The full release also arrived after the Demo period, so a video showing a Demo choice may not represent every full-game option.
Use a job's visible in-game description and the result of a familiar test wave as the deciding signals. If a future balance patch changes behavior, the fight itself is more useful than an old ranking.
