System map

The official Steam description names nine major progression layers:

SystemWhat the official description establishesOpen this route when…
Skill TreeUpgrades are arranged in a large treeYou know the stat or behavior that blocks the next wave
JobsFive Archer jobs can be unlockedYou need to understand or change job behavior
LootTarget enemies drop rare equipmentA bow or armor slot may be holding progress back
AbilitiesAbilities can be acquired and upgradedThe active combat behavior needs a stronger option
CraftingCreates bows and armorLoot alone is not producing the equipment choice you need
MiningCan empower and transform archer abilitiesA gathering system is available and direct nodes feel flat
ShapingA named later progression systemThe Shaper milestone or interface becomes available
MasteriesA named later progression systemThe Grandmaster milestone or Mastery screen opens
Guardian PerksA named later progression systemThe Stargazer milestone or perk screen opens

How to move through the systems

  1. Start with the fight. Identify whether the requirement is damage, survival, or positioning.
  2. Check immediate tools. Equipped loot, active abilities, skill-tree nodes, and job behavior affect the next run directly.
  3. Check production systems. Crafting makes bows and armor; mining contributes to skill power according to the official description.
  4. Open newly unlocked layers. Shaping, Masteries, and Guardian Perks should not sit unread after their screens become available.
  5. Return to a known wave. Test one meaningful change and compare the result.

Which page owns each decision?

  • What do I do first? Open the Beginner Guide.
  • Which Archer should I use? Open Jobs.
  • Which stat or node should I change? Open Upgrades.
  • Should I craft or replace gear? Open Crafting.
  • Which milestone am I missing? Open Achievements.

Unlock milestones visible on Steam

The public Steam achievement list connects several systems to named milestones: A New Path unlocks Jobs, Artisan unlocks Crafting, Prospector unlocks Mining, Shaper unlocks Shaping, Grandmaster unlocks Mastery, and Stargazer unlocks Guardian Perks.

Those descriptions establish the unlock relationship, but not a universal fastest route. Use them as a checklist: if the relevant achievement has not appeared, continue toward the system milestone; if it has appeared, open and inspect the new system before grinding another wave.

Confirmed milestoneSystem it unlocksWhat to do when it appearsEvidence boundary
A New PathJobsOpen the Jobs screen and compare the available Archer behaviorSteam confirms the unlock, not a best Job
ArtisanCraftingOpen Crafting and compare one bow or armor slotSteam confirms the system, not recipes or costs
ProspectorMiningInspect the Mining screen before repeating the previous waveSteam confirms the unlock, not resource rates
ShaperShapingRead the newly available Shaping choicesSteam does not publish a complete option table
GrandmasterMasteryInspect the Mastery layer and choose against the current blockerNo universal fastest Mastery route is confirmed
StargazerGuardian PerksOpen Guardian Perks and record the available choicesExact perk data requires in-game evidence

This is an unlock chart, not a claimed mandatory sequence. The live descriptions establish the milestone-to-system relationship; they do not establish exact level requirements, costs, or the fastest path between milestones.

Failure modes and the system to inspect

Damage falls behind

Compare the equipped bow, relevant skill-tree branch, active combat behavior, and selected Job before assuming you need a later system. Change one direct layer and replay a familiar wave. If the result is readable but still weak, Crafting or Mining may offer the next meaningful route once unlocked.

Survival collapses

Start with armor and job behavior. A damage increase is not useful when the archer no longer survives long enough to apply it. Use the Upgrade Guide to separate survival from positioning before spending across the whole tree.

A new system opened but progress did not change

An unlock is an invitation to inspect choices, not an automatic power increase. Open the screen, read what is currently available, make one deliberate change, and test it. The Steam achievement confirms that the layer exists; it does not document every option or guarantee an instant improvement.

Systems FAQ

Should I save everything for Mastery or Guardian Perks?

No verified public route establishes that as the universal best strategy. Solve the current blocker with the systems already available, while keeping enough flexibility to inspect a newly unlocked layer. Hoarding resources without a stated goal can stall the same way as spending them everywhere.

Does the achievement order prove the fastest route?

It proves named unlock relationships, not timing, resource cost, or an optimal build. Loot and Job choice can change which immediate improvement matters most.

How do I know whether a change worked?

Return to a wave you understand and compare one visible outcome: time to clear, ability to survive, or positioning behavior. If several systems change at once, the result cannot tell you which decision helped.
